Director – HSE (Pipelines)

The Client


Our client is part of a multi-billion dollar engineering conglomerate that undertakes large EPC projects in Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Pipelines, Process Plant Engineering, Thermal Power, Civil Construction and related sectors. With a presence in several cities in Asia Pacific, Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, Europe and the Americas, our client offers a very strong track record in successfully delivering large and complex projects. It holds ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:1996 and OHSAS 18001:1999 certifications; employs more than 11,000 qualified and motivated people; and has recorded impressive overall growth rates over the past decade.

In view of this massive expansion, our client wishes to strengthen its existing teams in key areas and is looking for a senior professional to join the corporate team as :

Position : Director – HSE (Pipelines)

Location : Major Cosmopolitan City, Middle East


Responsibilities :


The selected candidate will lead a team to drive standardized HSE excellence initiatives across large cross country oil and gas pipeline projects being managed by the Group.

He/She will be responsible for development and implementation of a comprehensive HSE strategy including Training & Development of employees; monitor their implementation and compliance at regular basis; assist in building world class HSE systems, tools & techniques and models; and provide expert inputs into process and project safety from design to commissioning.


Key Result Areas will include HSE Excellence; Project Schedules, Reliability and Safety; Productivity & Cost; Compliance; and Talent and Capability building.


Requirements :


Ideal candidates will be engineering graduates from premier institutes with at least 20 years of experience, of which at least 10 years must be in Health, Safety and Environment function in large EPC corporations engaged in Pipeline Engineering & Construction.

They should have in-depth knowledge and expertise in global best practices, multi-location standardisation, world-class systems, models, tools and techniques. They should be familiar with leading large teams of technical and HSE professionals and manage the entire HSE Supply Chain.


NEBOSH certification is essential.

Strong leadership and man-management skills are essential. Candidates should ideally have a strong track record of driving HSE excellence programs in large multi-site corporate environment; and strong Leadership, Analytical, Planning & Execution, Communication and Interpersonal skills.
